Living Ratings of UHNW Wealth Managers: Curated Universe

How U.S. UHNW wealth brands are competing for influence, access and investment authority

Welcome to the Living Ratings of UHNW Wealth Managers 2026

Beyond the Relationship

How are UHNW wealth firms competing for influence, access and investment authority?

The U.S. ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) wealth management landscape has expanded well beyond traditional private banks. Today, UHNW clients (typically with $25 million+ in investable assets) engage a wider ecosystem of providers across private wealth, RIA, advisory, banking and investment-led models. Many maintain multiple relationships, separating advice, custody, lending, family office support, private markets access and specialist investment capabilities across different providers.

This Living Ratings universe reflects a curated cross-section of leading firms that originate, manage or meaningfully influence UHNW client relationships in the United States. It includes four distinct groups: UHNW Private Wealth, UHNW RIAs & Advisory, Private Banks and Alternative Asset Managers

While not typically positioned as primary wealth advisors, alternative asset managers are moving closer to UHNW clients and their advisors through increasingly sophisticated private wealth solutions and advisor-facing propositions. As private markets become a more prominent feature of UHNW portfolios, these firms are playing a more influential role in education, access, portfolio construction and allocation strategy.

In an increasingly competitive and fragmented landscape, digital presence is no longer a supporting channel. It is now a core expression of credibility, expertise and relevance. For UHNW firms, the challenge is not simply to be visible, but to demonstrate authority: to educate clients, clarify complex propositions, evidence specialist capability and build trust before, between and beyond direct relationships.

Our methodology

In April and May 2026, our analysts reviewed the brand and digital intelligence of 35 wealth management firms across four distinct groups: UHNW Private Wealth, UHNW RIAs & Advisory, Private Banks and Alternative Asset Managers.

Each firm was assessed through the eyes of an individual investor, where relevant, or financial intermediary, and measured against over 100 criteria. These covered two core dimensions: engagement, including website functionality and social channel use; and evidence, including brand, content and proof points across websites and social media. Where firms have a broader offering, the analysis was concentrated on the Wealth section of the website.

Alongside our established framework, this year we introduced a set of metrics to assess how effectively firms are optimising their content to be discovered, understood and represented across AI-enabled search and discovery environments.

With digital experience now central to how wealth brands express credibility, expertise and value, our analysis highlights how effectively each firm communicates its identity and proposition across digital channels.

Determined wealth managers recognize the potential of useful digital functionality backed by a client-focused channel strategy. They can then create appealing and relevant content in a variety of media including graphics, audio, animation, and video that captivates, informs and motivates the target audience.

Determined wealth managers promote a clear purpose. They offer the user informative brand-driven messaging, relevant subject matter and the kind of insight that shows a deep understanding of client issues and interests. This demonstrates the ability to help clients succeed.
