Unwavering Commitment: Designing Barclays’ Private Markets Annual Report 2026

For many private investors, the barrier to allocating to private markets is less about information and more about committing capital for years at a time.

Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management's third annual Private Markets report tackles that head on, exploring how investors are navigating a changing market and the role consistency and conviction play in long-term investing.

We worked with Barclays to shape the report's theme, beginning with the title and byline: Unwavering Commitment: Why consistency and conviction matter in private markets. The idea takes a reassuring principle that investors already trust in public markets, staying invested through the cycles and giving compounding time to work, and applies it to private markets. It also captures one of the research's most striking findings: investors are taking a longer view in a market that asks more of their discipline.

Bringing the theme to life

This year, Barclays set us a challenge we relished: create a report that would sit comfortably alongside the best thought leadership its clients already read.

An editorial layout and distinct chapter treatments guide readers through the analysis at a natural pace. Data visualisation is where the design really comes alive. We reimagined the charts and infographics so the findings are easier to compare, and gave the standout numbers the spotlight they deserve through an at-a-glance summary and pullouts throughout. Readers can grasp the story in a few minutes, or settle in for the full depth of the analysis.

The imagery carries the same idea. Photographs of people looking out over open water and wide landscapes reflect the patience and perspective at the heart of a long-term commitment. Each image sets the tone, then steps back to let the research speak.

The result

The finished report brings Barclays Private Bank's research together in a design that feels as considered as the thinking behind it. Its title, imagery and data visualisation work together to make a quietly confident case for patience: in private markets, as in public ones, a consistent, long-term approach gives conviction the time it needs.
