Life as a Creative Pioneer – month three 11 December 2013
This month has been another hectic one. There has been a lot going on across the agency, at external events and with client work. But I am starting to understand that this is what life at Living is all about and I love it!
This month I have attended two external events, The Finance Professional Show and a Gorkana Breakfast with WSJ. Both events were really informative; I have certainly expanded my knowledge both about financial services and the media landscape from these events. You can read my personal views on both of these events by clicking on the hyperlinks above.
In addition to getting out of the office, there has been a lot going on in the Living Group studio with the annual bake off, cheese and wine night and Movember. I have been busy documenting everything via our online channels, not to mention the £300+ these events raised for charity.
Unfortunately I missed the annual bake off tasting but unsurprisingly it was very popular with the team and everyone took part. Well, in the sampling anyway! Luckily, there was a piece of the winning cake leftover when I came back to the office, so I didn’t really miss out. That said, by the look of the pictures, it’s a good job I wasn’t in the studio that day, as my baking skills wouldn’t have been anywhere near as impressive as the rest of my colleagues!
The cheese and wine night was another hit. Everyone learnt a lot about Italian cheese and wine from our resident Italian team member Daniele. It also means I definitely know my way round Shoreditch now after what can only be described as a stressful last minute hunt to pick up speciality bread and wine glasses. The evening was a great opportunity to spend time with the team and get to know them a little bit better outside of working hours as well as enjoying the delicacies on offer.
December is set to be another busy month with our Christmas party in Berlin as well as Musical Bingo with Gorkana. I will also develop my first comms plan and work on the next Living Ratings, which should be very insightful and will certainly keep me busy.
All it leaves is for me to wish everyone a fun festive break and a Happy New Year.
