Inspiring the next generation 10 June 2016

As part of Volunteer's Week and our ongoing relationship with local charity Inspire, this Wednesday the team at Living hosted a Marketing Workshop for Year 12 BTEC Business students.

Back in May we were asked to set a Marketing brief for the students to respond to, with a view to them presenting their ideas to a select panel from Living.

On the day of the workshop we welcomed a rather quiet group of nine students to the studio. First off, our Group Marketing Director - David King gave them an overview of Living, before introducing them to some of the rest of the team, who shared a selection of their work and gave them a real flavour of how an agency operates. For the majority, this would be the first time the students had been inside such an environment.

Then came the hard part, the students had to present the ideas that had been developed to a 'Dragon’s Den' style panel which consisted of our Executive Creative Director – Duncan Shaw (and co-founder, so no pressure!) our Creative Director – Andy Richards and Group Marketing Director – David King. It was great to see how all nine students became more relaxed and animated as the morning went on and by the time they needed to present, were really fired up. The panel judged the presentations on various criteria and after some constructive feedback to all the teams, revealed the winning team.

Commenting on the experience, HR Manager Helen Tejedor said: “It was great to support our local students and continue our voluntary work with Inspire – an independent charity who do amazing work supporting the education, training and development of young people in London. The group certainly left the building making a lot more noise than when they arrived!"
