Creating an award-winning investor animation for State Street 27 March 2017
We are delighted to announce that our recent animation work for State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has been shortlisted for a Gold, Silver or Bronze Financial Communications Society Portfolio Award 2017.
Shortlisted in the highly competitive 'Business to Business Web Video' category, our short animation tackles head on many of the client issues faced in fixed income market and was specifically designed to boost investor confidence. We'll find if we've won Gold, Silver or Bronze on May 4th at a gala dinner in New York.
Creating engaging online story telling
Drawing upon key findings in a recent investor survey, SSGA identified bond market uncertainty as one of the top concerns and frustrations for their target audience, with many not knowing where to best find the opportunities for return. As a direct result, SSGA developed their '3 C’s of Portfolio Construction' strategy (Core, Complement and Cushion) – aimed to deliver diversification through a broad exposure to multiple fixed-income asset classes, while balancing credit and interest rate risk at the core of the portfolio.
Our aim was to use this strategy to reinstate investor confidence and counter-act the confusion, frustration and concern about where to invest. To do this we created a story with the ‘3 C’s’ as the main protagonists. The story took the target audience on a journey through the current uncertain financial landscape using a dynamic infographic style of animation that tackled a tough subject with an optimistic attitude while showing the simplicity of SSGA’s approach.
The result was an upbeat and engaging digital experience that demonstrated that SSGA has heard investor’s concerns and addressed them not only with an intelligent solution but also with an educational web video that relieves their anxiety and renews their confidence.
About the FCS Portfolio Awards
Now in its 23rd year, the FCS Portfolio Awards honour excellence in financial marketing and communications. Judged by a panel of senior industry experts, the awards recognise the sector's best creative work and effective messaging. In 2017, the international competition received a record number of applications across its coveted Business to Business, Consumer Retail and Corporate Image categories.
